About the NY-Sun PV Trainers Network
Solar is an engine for economic growth, and recent growth in the New York solar market has contributed to the State’s overall economy and provided more residents and businesses with clean, abundant energy. Through education, training, and technical assistance, the Network helps local governments and jurisdictions identify opportunities, mitigate barriers, and create programs that drive the development of solar electric (photovoltaic or PV) markets in communities across New York State.
The Network is composed of experts in the field that develop and deliver training at various locations across New York State. This access to experts can help jurisdictions to meet their community economic development, job creation, and sustainability goals.
The Network works directly with local officials, including:
- Code Officials
- First responders
- Village engineers
With funding from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), Meister Consultants Group has partnered with Entech Engineering, the City University of New York (CUNY), and other academic institutions to implement the Network. The Network offers NYSERDA-funded support for jurisdictions to accelerate solar development, including:
- Introductory workshops
- In-depth trainings
- Technical assistance
- Model code & documents
